Line Switcher

 The VSD line switcher is the first disconnector/switch able to break up to 3150 A at 245 kV, while keeping the appreciated feature of visible gap isolation.

Thanks to the unique combination of an air disconnecting switch for isolation and a SF6 chamber for current breaking, this apparatus offers a huge field of applications, where a simple disconnector is not enough, and a Circuit Breaker is not necessary.

This field includes :

- full load line opening

- line charging current breaking

- reactors switching

- loop switching

Therefore, it can be used to build remote tap points, to connect an Independent Power Producer to the grid, or at the connection point of an industrial customer, or simply... anywhere where an interruptible connection is desirable.
