Disconnectors : Centre Break

 Under a new internationally oriented name (CBD stands for “Centre Break Disconnector”), the former ranges of SDC and DR type disconnectors have been unified, for more consistency to our customers (see our information sheet here). The CBD Centre Break type disconnector is so versatile that it can be used in many sub-station types. Thanks to its simple design and actuation, it can fit with parallel, in line or even shifted crosswise layouts. This lightweight design allows good withstand to seismic forces and either stand-up, on-the-wall or hung positions. The live parts are made of aluminium, hard drawn silver plated copper, with stainless steel hardware. The rotary contacts are either made with flexible aluminium straps, or of self-cleaning type, with fingers individually loaded by stainless steel springs. The base frame and all steelworks are hot dip galvanised, the bearings self- or lifetime lubricated. Our range extends from 72.5 kV to 550 kV (BIL 1800), and up to 4000 A.

Options

  • 1 or 2 integrated earthing switches
  • Making and breaking of bus transfer currents up to 1600 A as per IEC 62271-102 Annex B
  • 10 or 20 mm of ice operation ability (according to IEC 62271-102)
  • Custom HV terminals
