Vertical Reach disconnectors are the best solution for busbar selection, since they can ensure isolation/connection directly across the vertical gap between lower and upper busbar. More than 30 years of experience in this design ensures the necessary performances and sturdiness to fulfil all possible requirements, worldwide.
This design allows easy bay maintenance since the all the switchgear and components of the line (including the disconnector itself) can be reached while the upper busbar is energized. Furthermore, the bay is more compact than with every horizontal disconnecting solution.
Under a new internationally oriented name (VR2D stands for Vertical Reach 2-arm Disconnector), the former ranges of 2-arm pantographs previously named SP or SP-C disconnectors have been unified, for more consistency to our customers (see our information sheet here ).
The live parts are made of aluminium, hard drawn silver plated copper, with stainless steel hardware. Rotary contacts are self cleaning and can bear thousands of cycles maintenance-free. The base frame and all steelworks are hot dip galvanised.
